Today a lifelong prison sentence was pronounced against a Syrian soldier of the army of the regime in the German city of Stuttgart, Abdul Gawad K.
This came on charges of leading a group of forces from the Syrian regime in Damascus and executing 19 people, mostly children, in Harasta and throwing them into a garbage dump in Harasta in 2014.
The court believes that Abdul-Jawad himself killed at least 5 people, while the rest were stabbed, beaten to death or shot.
Three of his family members in the same case were also sentenced to 8 years in prison for torturing protesters.
These statements are the highest issued against Syrians in Germany in cases related to events in Syria.
